The Pallars Sobira painted mural is exceptional and is. considered among the best conserved in Catalonia. The majority are apsidal basin decorations with the extraordinary exception of Sant Pere de Sorpe where we find a decoration from the temple stained glass.

The quality of the first two from the first quarter of the XII century is noted; Sant Pere del Burgal and Santa Maria d’Àneu from the picturesque school of the Pedret circle.
